Blush Lane Organic Market is proud to work with organizations with similar values, such as sustainability, community, and supporting local business. One such association that we’ve recently partnered with is REAP.

About REAP

REAP stands for Respect for the Earth and All People. It’s a Calgary-based non-profit that highlights local businesses who support a better way of doing business. These businesses take initiatives to purchase renewable energy, reduce waste, pay Albertans a living wage, create orchards in areas where people can’t afford fresh fruit, and support other local businesses to help Calgary’s local economy flourish. They care about more than just profit.

REAP’s programming creates connections that make a difference. In total, REAP businesses have diverted 20,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere, donated $17 million to local charities, and provided employment for 5500 Calgarians in living-wage jobs. We’re proud to be a part of this initiative.

Since 2004, Blush Lane has:

  • Diverted 375,000 kg of CO2 emissions
  • Donated $25,000 to local charities
  • Provided organic produce from our own orchard
  • Continued to support 175+ employees (and we’re growing!)
  • Kept edible food out of landfills with our food waste reduction initiatives

We think it’s pretty cool to care about the earth and our communities, so we try to do just that!
