Did you know that 1 in 10 Canadian households are food insecure? From September 1-15,…
Remember, as a kid, going to the corner store and getting those frozen drinks that caused the biggest brain freeze you could ever imagine. That was great when we were younger, but now as adults, we are maybe looking for a not so sugary and a healthier option!
I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for fun ways to include collagen into my every day. Collagen is full of healthy benefits for your skin, bones and more, and the strawberries and lime in this refreshing slushy provides a vitamin C and fibre boost.
This strawberry collagen slush is calling your name!
½ cup water (warm but not hot)
1 scoop Sproos Marine or other Grass Fed Collagen
2 cups diced frozen strawberries
Juice of one lime
Optional: 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1) In a cup or small bowl, whisk the collagen into the water until dissolved, then pour into the blender.
2) Add the strawberries, lime juice and sweetener if using.
3) Blend until smooth. You will likely have to use the blender plunger to help the blending along. Or, stop and scrape down the sides and shake the blender jar whenever the blender seems to get stuck. Then, restart, until the mixture is a nice smooth consistency.
4) Use a spatula to scrape the mixture into a bowl or fancy glass and eat with a spoon.
If you have fresh strawberries, add some ice instead of using frozen strawberries.
