Approximately 50,000+ children and youth were living in poverty in Calgary before the pandemic hit.…
For 20 years Inn from the Cold has worked tirelessly to provide shelter, sanctuary and healing to Calgary’s most vulnerable families. It began with a group of concerned citizens determined to build a community where no child or family was homelessness. Today the vision continues, as they help families achieve their greatest level of independence.
Shelter and sanctuary open the path to healing
Inn from the Cold provides a holistic approach to well-being – one that addresses the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental needs of their guests. This is accomplished through the support of numerous community partners and targeted programs and services.
Services far beyond shelter, food, and clothing
Their success seems due in part to providing a “continuum of care.” This concept ensures clients have access to:
- Emergency Family Shelter
- Early Childhood Development program
- Housing with intensive supports
- Journey House – a long-term housing program for female headed families.
With child and family homelessness growing at an alarming rate, Inn from the Cold ensures the process of recovering dignity, self-worth, independence and hope can begin.
